What is the best registry cleaner? My Acer Laptop is running very slow as it is cluttered with junk files. Before I lay out money, I need the BEST registry cleaner. I have heard that Regfix is good, but is it the best one?
It is hard to find the "best" registry cleaning program and I understand not wanting to spend money on something that doesn't do the trick.
I'd recommend Registry Fix. It does a very good job for most issues and covers more than any other program I've looked into.

Quad is i have it and it tells you the stuff it finds good for the kids it tells something i cant tell you it will shock u google i looked on and it had stuff bugs might been the pacth i added but Quad is the best its just like anti virus but better to scan and understand

Registry Booster 2009 by UniBlue, from my experience. It is very simple to use, and quite efficient. But you have to remember that Registry Booster does not speed up you PC, it just stops the registry from creating errors. If your laptop feels sluggish use a junk cleaner like SpeedUpMyPc 2009, again by UniBlue.

Regfix can be destructive, so can many of the others. And a registry cleaner alone will not speed up the machine. You need to ensure you have plenty of spare disk space. Also run a spyware scan with malwarebytes from http://malwarebytes.org. Spyware will always slow a machine. Make sure your machine is not starting up programs you do not need. Then uninstall any unwanted programs, and after this download ccleaner.exe which is the only consistently reliable cleaner around. Even then, always use the option it offers to save the original registry in case of problems. I have never needed it, but there is always a risk. Repeat the scans until it has found all the entries hidden by the first entries removed.

I think the best way to protect your registry is with either malwarebytes or spybot, which actively monitor for registry changes. I wouldn’t give any software carte blanche to change my registry settings.
