How can I find viruses, malicious software, and bots on my computer?

Hello,

I think that i may have multiple viruses on my pc. I would like to know how to find these viruses and successfully remove them from my computer. I’m pretty sure that they are DDOS viruses and kinds similar to that. If anyone knows how to remove these without running scans with my anti virus, please let me know. Thanks

PS. I have Avast Anti-virus. Do you have any recommendations of another antivirus or some sort of scan that finds these types of viruses, thanks.

(Note) If Malwarebytes won’t install do this: Right click on the mbam setup app you downloaded and rename it xxxx then Dbl click on it and install and update it(If you can) and run a full scan and delete/quarantine all entities it finds.
(Note)If you couldn’t update before 1st scan update Malwarebytes and do another scan with a updated Malwarebytes!

You should scan with more than one anitvirus. Try a program like Spyware Doctor which is antivirus and antispyware. You may also want a registry scan, there’s a good program called Regcure for that.

Do a boot time scan with Avast! if you haven’t already. Select "scan archive files". This should take a while so be patient. Quarantine what Avast! finds when the scan is done. Download, update and run Malwarebytes. You may have to rename it as xxx.exe. Also, try Dr. Web Cureit which works well with Avast!. If the virus on your computer prevents you from downloading additional programs you can go to a clean computer and put them on a DVD/CD and then transfer them to your computer. Make sure you only have one anti-virus program (ex. Avast!) on your computer at once or it will cause problems.

I agree with McAfee Anti-virus and LS’s answers. I would beware of what I download, because a lot of free stuff out there are also potentially dangerous viruses, spywares and malwares themselves, so becareful!
